Nottingham Comhaltas Activities 2024

As the new year starts at Comhaltas we thought we would look back on some of the exciting events we have been part of so far in 2024.

We were delighted to perform at Emmanuel House for Nottingham Light Night in February this year.

Committee members visited the Irish embassy in London to celebrate 25 years of the Nottingham St Patrick's Day Festival which was a great day out.

We enjoyed performing on stage in Nottingham's Old Market Square on a very sunny St Patrick's Day.

Silver medal winner at the All Britain Fleadh

Two branch members qualified for the All Britain Fleadh this year, with branch chair Sam Chapman getting a silver medal in the Senior Men's Singing competition, going on to compete at the All Ireland Fleadh in Wexford.

In September we headlined the Nottingham arboretum bandstand at Nottingham Green Festival. We were very glad the sun decided to come out in time for our set!

We hope to have just as busy a year to come. If you are interested in joining our sessions or learning a traditional Irish instrument then please join us on Tuesday evenings at the Nottingham Irish Centre - contact us at nottinghamcce@gmail.com for more info.
